Who I am and What I do | About Wendy Manto, MA LCPC

Life can be challenging and there are times when we need the support and guidance of an unbiased professional. I work primarily from an insight-oriented perspective as I believe that increased self-understanding gives us a better chance of learning to accept and/or to make the changes in our lives that lead to healing. I help my clients explore patterns in their lives and learn to replace what is not working with more workable solutions.

While I know that people come to therapy for different reasons and to work on different issues, my goal remains constant: to create a safe space and support my clients as they learn about themselves and work toward their goals. I am kind, empathic and genuine and enjoy working with each and every one of my clients as they strive toward greater harmony and balance in their lives.

Additionally, I have seven years of experience working with individuals – both children and adults – with developmental delays/disabilities and chronic health problems and very much enjoy working with this population. My past work experience also includes working as a therapist with foster children and foster parents in the child welfare system together with biological parents who are seeking to regain custody of their children.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University. I take BCBS, Cigna, Optum, Magellan and several Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)

I understand that insurance doesn’t work for everyone, so I offer a generous sliding scale to help make psychotherapy and counseling available for those without coverage.
